The poor man and the oppressor have this in common: The Lord gives light to the eyes of both. Proverbs 29:13
I love reading Proverbs daily, and following the day of the month with that same chapter. The wisdom and knowledge that is available in Proverbs will never fail you. This verse shows how great God's love is despite our circumstances.
This passage shows this by using persons of very different tempers, capacities, and conditions in the world, even those that are contrary to each other. Some are poor and forced to borrow; others are rich have a great deal of wealth that has been obtained through unrighteousness (deceitful riches they are called). Many are poor, and honest, and laborious; others are rich, slothful, and deceitful. They meet together in the business of this world, and have dealings with one another, and the Lord enlightens both their eyes; he causes his sun to shine upon both and gives them both the comforts of this life.
WOW! So my heavenly father Loves me the same as he does you! The same light that shines upon me shines upon you today. How awesome that we serve a God who doesn't withhold his light from us despite our sin and shortcomings in this world.
With Him are strength and prudence. The deceived and the deceiver are His. Job 12:16
This should compel us to go out and share the LOVE of Jesus Christ with the whole world. There is no person on this earth who God didn't send his Son Jesus Christ to die for. As I sit and watch the sun come up today, I realize it parallel's this verse. The sun I see shining on me this morning is also the same sun that you will see shining on you today! Who do you know today that need's the light from the LORD?
I pray today you will seek God's light for your eyes and allow it to penetrate your heart.
