Love and Obedience Rewarded

Therefore you shall love the Lord your God, and keep His charge, His statues, His judgements, and His commandments always. Deuteronomy 11:1

Moses tell's God's people to have a memory of what God has done among them and love Him as a result. What memory do you have today of what God has done, that should trigger you to Love Him more? Has God been faithful to answer a prayer? Has God been faithful to deliver you from bondage?

Our response to what God has done for us is supposed to be obedience in following his commandments.

Behold, I set before you today a blessing and a curse: the blessing, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you today; and the curse, if you do not obey the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn aside from the way which I command you today, to go after other gods which you have not known. Deuteronomy 11:26-28

There is a penalty if we are not willing to follow God's commandments. If you are not following God, we are basically choosing to follow other gods and we are to be cursed!

Prayer: Ask God to give you a memory of what He has done with you and those around you. Ask God to allow that to fuel your Love and obedience for him.
