Are you a people-pleaser?
For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ. Galatians 1:10
Today most people are concerned with what others think of them. In our society we feed off pleasing others and the gratification that comes from this. For many their self-worth is defined in how others perceive them. Paul made it very clear here that if he was still trying to please man he would be not a servant of Christ.
We at times get focused on pleasing our boss, parents, family members, and friends. We LOVE approval, praise, and recognition from man. Instead we should seek those things from God. If we try to please God, we will be free indeed.
No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money. Matthew 6:24
We can only have one master! That should be our Heavenly Father.
Prayer: Ask God for the strength to serve and focus on pleasing him instead of others so you can be free indeed.
