Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times.

“Therefore the kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who wished to settle accounts with his servants.

Matthew 18:22-23

This may be one of the hardest passages to swallow as a Christian. Forgiving your brother or sister takes much humility and zero pride. Christ gave the ultimate example when He said, "I came to settle accounts with my servants. His forgiveness to us had no limit.

They posed the question to Jesus, how many times? His answer of seventy times seven, was a way to show them forgiveness doesn't keep records or have a limit. We are called to continual forgiveness and reconciliation with each other in order to remain in communion with God.

So many times we say that's enough, I have given them to many chances or they have went to far this time. How would you feel if God responded to you that way? If you are harboring un forgiveness in your heart today I encourage you to lay it before the Lord.

Prayer: Seek God's forgiveness and his help in allowing you to mend broker relationships that deal with forgiveness today!
