2 Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, Who seek Him with the whole heart! Psalm 119:2

We have all watched a heroic sports game where one athlete helped win a game under distress. Most comments and headlines that followed included something on how the athlete showed lots of heart and the performance was "all heart."

When was the last time someone mentioned an effort by someone serving the Lord as that was "all heart?"

When was the last time you truly sought after God with "all your heart?"

I realize that is a very personal and somewhat judgmental question but it comes from the scripture not me. In Psalm 119 we have several references to giving God our whole heart in seeking Him. In 119:2 it says those are blessed who seek Him with the whole heart.

These athletes we have a mental picture of performed with all heart to help win a game very worn out, sweaty, could barely stand after the game, and looked like they couldn't go any further. Is that how we look when we serve God and seek after him? The bible has clearly called us to seek God with all our heart. The price that was paid on calvary should warrant nothing less from us. I pray today that we would not serve God half heartedly or even pretend we are giving an effort when we have so much more to offer him.

Prayer: Ask God to honest with you about your effort in seeking him.

Praise: He only asked us to bring our whole heart, not perfection or an amount of money or a gift. He just wants us to seek him with all our heart!
