10 Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.”

11 The woman said to Him, “Sir, You have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. Where then do You get that living water? John 4:10-11

The samaritan woman had a problem, she had to come back and get water frequently because the water was not sustaining her. Jesus knew that she was coming at an odd time to avoid the others in the area because of the sin in her life. But he twisted the story to speak on living water that never leaves one thirsty!

You see this lady was looking for satisfaction in her life in all the wrong places. She was on her 6th man which means she hadn't found any satisfaction there. When Jesus spoke to her about this living water he was referencing her life that lacked spiritual quenching.

So today where do you look to quench your thirst? To many times we look to jobs, sports, friends, sex, drugs, alcohol, and so on to quench our thirst. The problem is it does momentarily but leaves your thirsty again shortly after.

Jesus was after her and he is after you today! Will you allow Him to be your thirst quencher?

17 And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely. Revelation 22:17
