What is your shield made of?

Above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Ephesians 6:16

We learn here in the book of Ephesians that our battle as Christian is against the evil one Satan. He is always looking to shoot fiery darts or arrows at us to knock us down from glorifying God.

In battle the shield is the soldiers primary defense against the enemy. Our saving faith is the shield that guards us against the evil one. Without a saving faith you will not be able to withstand the fiery darts satan shoots at you. If you don't have a shield of faith that means you have a shield made of your own hands and will always be seeking self-rightesouness by trying to protect yourself and defeat satan on your own strength and power.

Do you have that faith? If not I pray you ask God to speak to your heart and draw you to a saving faith through his son Jesus Christ. If you do have that faith I pray you are studying the word and growing in it to strengthen yourself for battle against the evil one.
