And may You hear the supplication of Your servant, and of Your people Israel, when they pray toward this place. Hear in heaven Your dwelling place; and when You hear, forgive. 1 Kings 8:30

Solomon went to the Lord with a heart felt prayer. Just as the picture above shows, Solomon spread out his hands toward heaven and began to pray. During the prayer in 1 Kings 8:22-30 Solomon recognized God's faithfulness and spoke boldly of his covenant and mercy with his servants. The ending of his prayer was even better.

He ended the prayer in v.30 with a thankfulness that God hears our prayers and that He is willing to forgive us. Have you prayed that lately? It's so easy to pray for things, situations, and protection without recognizing how awesome God is to forgive us and even hear our prayers.

Here is a simple prayer for today that reflects 1 Kings 8:30. God, I thank You that when You hear our prayers, You also forgive us.
